Election Results

I was so very excited to see Barack Obama become our new president!!! Last night was so historical I feel grateful to be alive to have witnessed history. I know it sounds cliche, but it is true. I knew he was going to win, but to see it happen, ah just amazing. He may not accomplish everything we want him to during his term, but I at least I know he is on the right track, and I feel like he cares about the people. I volunteered for his campaign, so it was nice to see my work, and, the work of so many others pay off. It is weird to me how we can vote for an African American to be president, yet we ban gay marriage in California. We take these huge steps nationally, yet on a state level, we cannot even give people the freedom to marry who they want to marry. I don`t get it. I heard that the smart train passed, which seems rather silly to me. Seeing as this train only goes to Larkspur, I don`t think it is a cost effective project. Even though you will be able to get on a train, you still have to pay for parking, and then the train. I don`t get it. I have mixed feeling about this election, but thank goodness Obama is our president!!

be alive to witnessed history? you mean this point in history.
i thought that your feelings about the gay marriage were an important factor but shouldn't be compared to being black necessarily.
good job! go obama!

I am really happy Obama won to i think he was the best candidate by far. i didnt think he was just going to blow Mccain out of the water like he did but im glad it was by a large margin. At any rate i like how you wrote about you helping out to promote him and help him in his victory

To clarify, I wasn`t comparing the two. I was just saying that our country is making big steps in some areas, and being a bit slow in others.

Nice work, and I was glade to hear that you play a part in all of this by not just voting, great job. As for the rest of it, I'm with you we can have a black man run the world but peoples freedoms are being taken away that is mixed up. I liked what you wrote, super job.

My hopes are that my children will have a better life, with more freedom. there is still a lot of negative people in this world who look at my children differently becuase they are mixed, with a black man at the wheele maybe my family and others like me can be seen as okay fine and not weird. Just looking for baby steps to a new world.

I agree with you that we witnessed a historical change in america! It's a big step to have a afro american president and changes are good!I did not really understand your opinion about gay married and parking at the train station and the relation to the election.
